Anthony Wedo

Founder, Chairman & CEO

Anthony Wedo is the founder of Premier Restaurant Group.  He began his professional career at PepsiCo where, before age 30, he was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of a $1.0 billion KFC division. His primary responsibility was the oversight of 1,200 company and franchise units in 20 southeastern states. Notably, he was given the challenge of revamping this struggling market. His tenacity led to dramatically improved hospitality and operating metrics; moving the division from last to first place in under three years.


After his success at KFC, he founded Mid-Atlantic Restaurants - the largest and most successful area developer of Boston Market restaurants (formerly Boston Chicken). In just four years the firm had expanded to more than 160 units and $250 million in revenue; earning him regional recognition as Entrepreneur of the Year, Philadelphia’s 40 under 40 and being named a Top 50 Employer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Anthony also served as the Chief Concept Officer and was instrumental in the brand re-invention and conversion from Boston Chicken to Boston Market.


Upon the sale of the Mid-Atlantic, Mr. Wedo was named Chairman, President and CEO of New World Restaurant Group, the largest bagel bakery café business in the US. There he was tasked with integrating six distinct brands and turning around the operations of over 1,000 units, generating $750 million in revenue. Focusing on the business-lunch opportunity, he more than doubled New World Restaurant Group’s EBITDA, leading to a successful sale of the company.


He holds a BS degree in business from Penn State University, an MBA from Cornell University and an International MBA from Queens University in Kingston Ontario Canada. He lives just outside of Wilmington, Delaware with his wife Carrie and two sons, Austin and Michael.

External Board Member

30 years private investment, investment banking and executive leadership.

Mr. Wedo and Mr. Goff worked together on the NWRG acquisition of Einstein’s Bagels. He has been an investor in and advisor to Morton’s of Chicago, McCormick & Schmick’s, Arby’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Applebee’s.

Paul Guaraldi

Chief Financial Officer

40 years executive & entrepreneurial experience in finance, sales, manufacturing, real estate development & IT. He has successfully started, built & sold several companies. He is CFO of Darwin Ecosystems, CFO of Premier Restaurant Group and Owner of Ilmarin Group.

Virginia E. Benway

Vice President Investor Relations

25 years experience leading client-facing teams in product development, project management, commercial services, finance, operations and supply chain fulfillment. Lean six-sigma black belt focused on driving revenue growth, operating margins and shareholder value.

Bruce Colvin

Vice President Brand Operations

40 years experience in the restaurant industry - with more than 15 years supporting and leading franchise operations for several nationally branded concepts.  A culinary grad with expertise in purchasing, Bruce also heads up our procurement division for all brands.
